Her fingertips caress the top page as she battles with her curiosity.

She's begged him over the past year for a sneak peek, but he's refused her even a snippet. Her argument that he was violating the fine print of their vows resulted in more than a few heated conjugal sessions on the desk in his study.

But the galley proofs of 'The Bartlet White House' arrived minutes ago and he isn't home and she's just checking that the right book was delivered. Maybe she should check all the pages...

She swallows a sob.
