Jed held the paper up in the air as Leo walked in the room. "Again, Leo? I thought we'd made it clear to Al Kiefer that I'm not interested in the flag-burning amendment. Why the hell is he polling on it?"
"We didn't commission the poll." Leo prepared for the explosion to come. "The DNC did."
The paper thumped down on the desk. "What the hell are they playing at?"
"Mr. President--"
"No, Leo." He waved his hand. "I'm not going to be part of creating an untouchable symbol. We're not going to enforce respect. We're going to earn it."
